Meet Business Manager Emma Peek and find out why she’s a trend setter when it comes to work-life balance for our team.

When Emma Peek announced her next pregnancy to excited colleagues, she also started the ball rolling on the development of an industry-leading parental leave policy at IPS.

As our highly valued business operations manager, Emma is central to everything that happens in our business and drives the ‘customer first’ culture that’s so important to the results we achieve.

Her leadership skills were just as helpful when it came to setting a parental leave policy for our fast-growing IPS team in 2023, echoing our Director Sascha Kurz’s contribution to shaping a parental leave policy in a previous role at a large construction firm in 2014.

IPS provided Emma with a tailored arrangement where she received paid leave entitlements well above legislative requirements, helping to support her through this critical family time.

Fast-forward to today, Emma is back at work and thriving after 9 months of parental leave and couldn’t be happier with how things have turned out.

“Workplace culture is extremely important to me, so it was exciting for me to be a part of such a pivotal moment in helping continue to grow the positive and supportive culture at IPS,” Emma said. “In fact, this was one of the main reasons I was so thrilled for the opportunity to join the IPS team in the beginning,” she said.

“However, as IPS is a relatively new business, I was the first team member to fall pregnant!

“At that time, IPS hadn’t settled on its parental leave policy, so my pregnancy presented a great opportunity to be involved in both establishing and then pioneering the policy for others to follow.

“I’m now back at work and back to enjoying the amazing culture we have at IPS. I am extremely grateful to be a part of the IPS team and even more appreciative of the support I have received during my pregnancy, subsequent leave and my journey back to the workplace now as a mum of 3!”
